Preseason Rankings have Bears' Second in the Country
The annual Preseason Softball rankings were released Wednesday. Going into the 2019 Campaign, Heinz Mueller's Softball team sees themselves ranked only behind the team they lost to, in the National Championship last year.
"That is where we ended up last year; and nice to start, but it is how we finish," Mueller said.
2020 Signing Class
Lady Bears' sign Madison Fusich
Madison Fusich Infielder Centennial HS
"We were fortunate to get Madison this late in the recruiting process, and should add to our 'Power Lineup' for next year," Heinz Mueller said. Madison, who plays in the Infield, is the younger sister of Shelby Fusich, who played in the softball program during the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
Eight Recruits sign to Phoenix College
Julianne Malis Pitcher/3rd Baseman Goldwater HS
Ashlyn Senior Outfielder Horizon HS
Mia Stankiewicz Infielder Gilbert HS
Ilyana Carrillo Outfielder Chandler HS
Kaylene Coplan Outfielder Snowflake HS
Sierra Meyers 1st Baseman Hamilton HS
Jillian Pavlik Catcher Horizon HS
Ava Kingston Firstbaseman Mountain Pointe HS
Coach Mueller said, "We really got some quality players in this year's class. We follow-up with last year's class signings, with getting three really, speedy outfielders; three quality infielders, that can hit with power; a power pitcher and power catcher. This will complement our returners; and make a great 2020 squad. What is even better, is that these young ladies are all 'Honor Students' and have great character. I am looking forward to coaching all of them; and they will definitely carry on the proud, PC softball tradition that has been established."
